PROCLAMATION and TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
The Sports Fencing Club of Chania, under the aegis of the Greek Fencing Federation, is organizing in Chania – Crete, Rated (in Greece) Fencing Tournament named «Chania Fencing Grand Prix 2016».
1. VENUE AND SCHEDULE OF COMPETITION
• The Tournament will be held at the Sports Hall of the “Kladissos Municipal Sports Centre” in Chania – Crete.
• The tournament schedule is as follows:
Saturday, June 25th,2016. Epee, Men. The preliminary round starts at 09:30
Sunday, June 26th,2016. Epee, Women. The preliminary round starts at 09:30.
2. CATEGORIES OF WEAPONS AND ATHLETES
1. EPEE Men (13 years and up)
2. EPEE Women (13 years and up)
Greek and International fencers may participate in the Tournament.
Greek fencers must have a valid Greek Fencing Federation Card.
International Fencers must have a valid Fencers Card of the corresponding
National Fencing Federation with a recent medical certificate for the
participation in fencing matches.
3. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
• All participants must be at the venue 30 minutes before the beginning of the
tournament and present their Fencers Card (with a recent medical certificate)
to the Technical Committee of the tournament.
• Athletes are competing at their own risk. In case of an accident, the
organizers bear no responsibility. The S.F.C of Chania has ensured medical
care of the participants throughout the tournament in the venue.
4. EQUIPMENT – UNIFORM
Athletes must be equipped with all the individual items in accordance with the
F.I.E. Rules. Particular attention will be paid to the plastron (800 N) which is
mandatory. The use of a tracksuit instead of fencing breeches is prohibited.
Fencers who do not comply with the Dressing Regulation will be disqualified.
Mask control will take place before the games. Worn-out or defective masks
will be discarded.
5. REGULATIONS
The Official F.I.E International Regulations will be applied, the general
games proclamation regulations of G.F.F and the present announcement
6. ENTRIES
Athletes‟ entries are made through their respective Clubs to Sport Fencing
Club of Chania via e-mail : info@xifaskia.net not later than 20:00
Wednesday, June 15th, 2016 along with proof of deposit of the athletes‟
entrance fee.
7. PARTICIPATION FEE
• Each athlete bears the participation fee of € 15.00. The amount to be
collected will be dedicated to the needs of the games (Hall rent, Hall
configuration, material transportation, etc).

8. PRIZES
First place will be awarded (cup, medal, and diploma) the second and
third with Medal and Diploma and all the participants will receive Participation Diplomas.
In case of a schedule change, a timely notification will be made.
A supplementary notice will soon follow up with detailed information about
accommodation and transportation.
